Just Walk

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

I’ve never believed that different people are something to be afraid of. I’ve had friends that are of different cultures and handicaps. I think that it is rediculious that some people truly have to do some of the things Mr. Staples is talking about. I think if more people would just not take things at face value and actually find out who people are before they make judgements our world would hopefully, not have people bombing others and doing God knows what else.

The Ugly Truth

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

I’m not sure how I feel about what the author has to say. He has a point as to how you want to answer a woman when she asks that question. I do believe also that  the barbie syndrome has something to do with that for ladies that are probably 35 and above. I’m going to check our what the rest of you guys thought.

Societal Suicide

Here is just another example of how hipacritical some people of religion can be. Here is a man that has gone to prison for obstruction of justice, assuming he can tell me what is morally correct. He’s the head of Prison Ministries, what does he preach? How to keep your virginity while in prison? I think he needs to learn to take care of his own head and learn what truth is and how to speak it, before telling anyone how they should live their lives.

Desecration? Dedication

This is just one more example of the double standards we have to cope with in our country.  It’s fine for the priests’ to keep their secrets about abusing the children in their churches but God forbid two people fall in love and want to marry and spend their lives together.  I believe that it doesn’t matter what sex you are, if you want to spend your life with someone you love, and it just happens that they are the same sex it should not effect anyone else. We’re supposed to have the freedom to do things that make us happy and that should include getting married to whom ever we fall in love with.

Struggling

I thought this essay was very interesting how Ms. Beck combined the idea that eating disorders could be linked to abuse. I was surprised but it does follow the pattern, on what women can do to themselves, or allow others to do to them. I hope we have all learned from these women’s sacrafices.
