Intro Essay

In this life, we as people and also as students have done one thing in common that makes us quite unique. We all have the ability to obtain knowledge and watch it blossom before our very eyes. When we learn more about something, we enjoy what we’re doing more. Instead of just being okay with the things we have and leaving it as it is, we can further our knowledge to be more successful doing the things we love to do. As for me, I was able to further my knowledge in writing this semester, after taking this composition course. I actually learned a lot about how a paper or essay should be put together, rather than just throwing words onto a page like confetti. In the duration of this course and from writing each assigned paper, I gained quite a bit of knowledge of such things as: what a thesis is and where it should be placed in the paper and also primary and secondary support use in an essay. These were very helpful things to know when you’re writing a paper, because it brings everything together, and helps make sense of your writing. Now after learning more about writing ethics and the helpful facts to finish and complete an essay, I feel more confident in my writing, and will continue to write more in the future.

When given the knowledge to write a good essay, I didn’t find much trouble in understanding and following through with revising, etc,  but I did find myself stressing out a bit when it came down to getting all of my writing onto the comment and blogging site. Remembering passwords and usernames isn’t always my forte’, so that was the only real challenge for me. My favorite course written during this semester was probably the last essay I wrote, which consisted of the movie we each chose. I enjoyed writing that because there were so many films out there to choose from, but just picking one made it pretty interesting and fun. The essay assigned I wasn’t very fond of was probably the cause/effect essay. I disliked this one the most due to not understanding it as well. I didn’t understand the part about only using either cause or effect and not both. I still believe I wrote this essay to my full potential and concentration. While writing these essays, a student needs a process to begin his or her paper. I believe every process taught to me worked the best. I mean brainstorming, peer review, and prewriting. It was all used in my process of completing an essay.

Like I said, I have learned many things about how an essay should be written or even just improving my English vocabulary. I have developed into someone who knows how to place a thesis in the correct place and use supportive ideas in my essay properly. If I do get confused about how to do all of that, then at least I am more confident about it.
