I usually have a one sided view on gay marriage but after reading these two stories it helped me understand both sides of the spectrum. I am against gay marriage usually. I don’t believe that it is fair to have a kid brought up by gay parents. THe kid will have a harder time not getting love from a mother and a father. The first story made me realize that gay parents are still capable of raising good kids. THat point was quickly proven false in the second story. All the facts about kids who grow up in broken homes or without parents proved to me that children from gay parents have a rougher time. I dont mean that all kids with gay parents are going to be criminals, just that they will have a harder time without both influences.

One thing that I believe is logical that Steve does is put all the information for class on the internet. If you miss a class all you have to do is jump on the internet and you can find out what is do the next day. For me, it saves a lot of time and I believe assignments are a lot easier when they are internet related. The only bad thing I can see about this is that I think everyone else has realized it too. No one comes to class anymore and I think it is because they have realized that they can get the whole class done by sitting on the internet.

Just Walk on By was a story about how a young black journalist struggles with racial profiling. I really enjoyed this story because it helped me understand how a different culture thinks. It makes me think because I know that there have been times in my life where situations that I was put in were overreacted upon. It sucks that this is how America is but there is a lot of violence here. The American public usually seems to think that the worst thing is always going to happen. Walking down the streets in a large city at night and seeing someone dressed up in a army coat will scare a lot of people.

Well my spring break was not as eventful as I would have hoped. I was suppose to go to Cancun with a bunch of my friends but at the last minute I had to cancel because my cousin died. So my spring break began with a 3 and a half hour drive to Anoka on Thursday morning through 6-8 inches of snow. It was not that fun. Then once I got home I got to relax for about 2 hours and then had to jump back in the car and drive another hour in the blizzard to my cousin’s wake. After that my break calmed down and i just spent time catching up with friends from Anoka. So that was kind of nice I guess. I watched alot of hockey during break. All of the high school state tourney and I got to go to a Wild game and sat first row behind the boards. Other then that nothing else is new. I am flying out to San Diego in a few weeks for a long weekend to begin looking at houses out there. I am only four months away from moving to Cali and it can’t come quick enough. Well I hope everyone else had a good break.

I recently decided that I am going to move to San Diego. Some time this July, Brent (from class) and I have decided we’re moving to California. We are going to go to Palomar College for our first year just to finish our generals and then transfer to San DIego State. Were just sick of Minnesota. Crappy winters with no snow or even really ice push us to just go and lounge on the beach and have the time of our lives. We have already started to look for houses and it is kind of expensive but still managable. A 2 bedrooom apartment in a nice complex is about $1000 a month or a 3 bedroom house is about $1800. Either way I am Cali bound. I don’t wanna live here no more. [audio:12_Cali_Swangin'.mp3|autostart=yes|loop=yes]

I really hate blogging about nothing, so I will just talk about what I have going on this next week. My cousin has been top on my mind for the last few weeks. She is 20 years old and at the end of a 5 year battle with cancer. It kind of sucks waking up every morning wondering if today will be her last. So I may have to miss a few days of school pretty soon for a funeral. On the positive side, I get to go to Cancun on March 6 with about 10 of my other friends. We are staying for 7 days and we are all planning on it being the week of our lives. So hopefully I don’t end up in some Mexican jail. Last but not least we are moving out of our old house next week so we are having a going away party for our old party house. If anyone is interested in coming just leave a message or chat in class. Peace I’m going snowboarding.

I feel like responding to this story can get any guy in trouble. Most guys, me included, agree fully with this story. I just think it is so funny how guys can wake up about 15- 30 minutes before they have to do something and get ready in time. Alot of girls over think the whole situation because I know I do not really care if a girl takes all the time getting ready. It is nice when there is an occasion but other than that I don’t notice every time they are trying to look perfect. Maybe I am a bad guy but I think a lot of guys feel the same way. I don’t know. Sorry girls.

I’m a 20 year old single white male. I live in Duluth with three of my friends from my home town of Anoka. I like to snowboard in the winter and play softball and go to the beach. I listened to classic rock and some rap music. Thats about it. Drop a line.
